Additional Ideas
These are extra suggestions that can be used instead of calendar items that may not fit your family’s current needs.
Spiritual Experiences
Tell of times when you trusted in the Lord or your prayers were answered.
Possible Activities
- Share an event or spiritual experience from your journal. Have other family members share their spiritual experiences.
Historical Sites
Visit a Historical Site near you. We are surrounded by Church history, Native American history, mining history, pioneering history, etc. Learn about one of these places and why it is important to the area. Or you could visit the home where your grandparents lived and see if you can find out how it may have been different when they lived there. There are more than 1,800 listed Historical Site properties in Utah.
Possible Activities
- Search Google for: Historical Sites near me, or The Top 14 Historical Sites in Utah, and go together as a family to visit the site. See if you can find an ancestry who lived near this site, or was affected by what happened there.
- This may be an activity you would enjoy with other friends or neighbors.
Children’s Activities
There are a lot of Family History activities for children on the church Family Search site.
Possible Activities
- Search google for: Family History Activities for Children: Family Search. A large variety of activities are listed there for children of all ages. There is also a separate listing for children from 3 to 11. The “Fun and Games” section includes an activity book that can be downloaded or printed.
